Thinking about Christmas

It's December already and the world is coming alive with the scenes and sounds of Christmas. Here in the Everglades the Christmas season is a little different. Oh, I don't mean it celebrated any differently,  it's just different than the Christmas I remember as a child. For one think it NOT cold. The temperatures remain in the 70"s to low 80's for the most part. AND that means NO SNOW.  Actually I am thankful for that, I had enough snow and cold growing up in Kansas. I do have to admit I miss it a little sometimes, but not much. It seems to me to compensate for the lack of cold temperatures and snow that people decorate their houses more than I remember.  One of my favorite things used be taking the children out to look at Christmas lights. There all grown up now, and it's still fun to take the grand baby out, though it's really Grandpa who is going to see the sights.
